Ontario, NY asked in Uncategorized for New York

Q: I'm on short term disability. Payments went from 170 to 117 per week. Not getting help, can't afford help.

HR at work not helpful. I'm very confused and financially strained. Have cancer diagnosis and being treated. Can't even afford my co pays. Medical bills even with insurance is high. I also have to pay my insurance premium that disability doesn't take out for. I don't seem to qualify for much. Husband works but its not enough for everything.

A: This is something that a disability/employment attorney would probably have the best insight into, but your question went unnoticed for four weeks. I'm sorry for your difficult situation. You could repost under Employment Law and Social Security Law. There's no guarantee all questions are picked up, but there might be better chances of it being seen there by attorneys who have insight into the issues you present. You could also reach out to attorneys in those areas to learn if it is possible to arrange a free consult to briefly discuss options. You could search on your own or use the tab above, Find-a-Lawyer. That's outside this Q & A forum and would be between you and any attorneys you contact. Good luck
