Asked in Contracts and Health Care Law for New York

Q: I’m a former anesthesia technician fired while on assignment at Harlem Hospital! I’m looking for legal representation.

I’ve been an anesthesia technician for 19 years(traveler since 2011). I was on assignment in nyc at Harlem Hospital(April 2021-September 2021) & had been extended(asked to renew my contract to stay on to keep working) 3 times(I accepted). I was asked to extend a 4th time right before the mandates hit & I was fired for not complying to take the vaccines. I have a religious exemption & I’m medically unable to take the vaccines yet no exemptions were acceptable. I’m looking to sue NYC Health & Hospitals as well as my agency(at the time) Integrated Resources Inc. who did nothing to help/compensate me for the contract I signed to continue working. I was on a standard contract of 13 weeks. I’m asking for help with legal representation.

A: I'm sorry your question remains open for a week. At this point, you could repost your question under the Employment Law category. You are correct about this matter being related to health care law, but an employment law attorney would probably have the strongest insight here about your rights. There's no guarantee all posts are ultimately picked up, but you might have better chances of a response under that category. In the interest of not losing further time, you could also consider reaching out to employment law attorneys. If nothing else, you could learn what time deadlines you must act within to preserve your rights. That's something an employment law attorney should advise you about, and you should learn that. In addition to your own searches, there is a tab above, Find-a-Lawyer. Any consults you arrange are between you and attorneys you might contact - that isn't part of the question & answer forum here. Good luck
