A: An Arkansas attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. I'm sorry about your daughter's accident. I hope she is okay. There are a number of issues here, some relating to family law. I can only speak for the issues involving personal injury law.

It's nobody's business how your family and daughter wish to handle the accident. But as a general note, in the aftermath of an accident, things can move quickly. Depending on the jurisdiction, certain forms and other paperwork could require immediate attention to avert future collection actions from hospitals and other medical providers. Statements under oath could be required by insurance examiners. An experienced attorney could prevent costly errors in these early stages.

I hope your daughter was not seriously injured. But if she did require medical attention, it's possible the involvement of an experienced attorney could be a positive thing. Doing things incorrectly without an attorney could sometimes be more costly. Good luck
