Q: False emergency hearing scheduled with no evidence and no lawyer for me
My ex has terrorized me for 10 years and the kids are almost in 12th grade and now he's called for an emergency hearing . There is no proof to his allegations. I put in a complaint that he wasn't giving the kids back. He is in Florida with them even! Why is that an emergency? He made actual lies up, and gave the kids cars during the last custody hearing to bribe them. So now he controls them with the cars. In our divorce decree it says we both have to agree on the cars and phones and he has done both without me. When I protested and sent money he denied it. Then when I found marijuana drugs and alcohol in my daughter's closet she threw a fit and took the car that he said he wasn't going to use as leverage and he said they need to live with him. Now he's in Florida, conveniently gives me this only days before and I don't have an attorney. How do I How do I ask for this to be reviewed and postponed because the custody evaluator is being totally unfair. I had made a complaint weeks ago
A: You need to find a family law attorney quickly, preferably in the county this case originates in. Or, contact the legal aid office that covers that area.
