Lexington, KY asked in Animal / Dog Law for Kentucky

Q: What can I do legally if a trainer doesn’t communicate while my dog is gone.

Our dog has been in a 4 week training program now for 3 weeks, however the past 2 weeks we have heard nothing from the trainer. We tried to give him some time In case he was busy but we’ve left multiple messages and calls with no reply whatsoever. We tried to contact the company he works for but emails and phone numbers no longer work & when I finally got ahold of someone they asked for my contact info and never went any further. Our dog isn’t scheduled to be back until April 10th but at this point we just want our dog back asap. Can we file a police report even if her return date hasn’t arrived yet? We have no clue what condition she is in or if she’s even being taken care of at this point.

A: Go to the facility and see the trainer in person. If the faculty is closed on gone, hen move on to the police and file a complaint for theft.
