A: The Ohio Supreme Court has provided a brochure about contempt at this link: https://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/JCS/CFC/resources/DRBenchCards/3_contempt.pdf

The other party must prove their case for contempt and the Defendant may provide evidence concerning any defenses to contempt.

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 2705.031.In a contempt action for failure to pay child support the parent accused has a right to counsel, and that if indigent, the accused must apply for a public defender or court appointed counsel within three business days after receipt of the summons (or should at least ask for an attorney if they have not done so).
