Glasgow, KY asked in Divorce for Kentucky

Q: Separate, not divorced yet

Living separate from spouse, divorce has been filed, he has a lawyer, I don’t have the money or even a vehicle to get back and forth to work. When I left the toxic relationship at home he cut me off of all finances and resources and he’s been buying huge purchases with taxes like concert tickets, buying 4 wheelers, while I’m sitting without a car and sometimes the basic necessities. If I can figure out a way to at pay for a lawyer, will they be able to help me get some relief?

A: What you are describing is probably dissipation of assets. The court can stop him from continuing this conduct. You should speak with a lawyer, and you should be able to get relief. More information is needed to fully answer your question.

A: Yes, a lawyer should be able to curb his spending and get you some temporary income during the case.
