Lehi, UT asked in Criminal Law for Utah

Q: Whyd you assume I just wanted to complain about loosing a case?

My attorney gave me empty promises told me a price then that price sky rocketed right after his promise fell through. He then told me if I go to treatment and and stay in contact with him I won't get a warrant well multiple rehabs and calling him withy case managers and talking to his clerk they knew were I was at and they knew what I was doing. I leave rehab. Get arrested for a warrant. Had to stay in jail for something I was promised wouldn't happen. He then says not once did I reach out to him since our first court date he says " I think he's in Utah county jail on a unrelated case. Miss representing me in the court room. Saying lies about me inside court. I bring most of my problems up to him he then says I have a lot of clients it's hard to keep track. What kind of attorney was this dude? And his excuse was a joke. I know I was misrepresented, I know he didn't hold almost any standards with me, I know he pressed me for more money then agreed apon, I know he told me wrong info.

A: I would suggest reviewing the agreement you signed with the attorney and seeing if they will discuss it with you. If they told you it would cost one amount and changed it it may explain why in the agreement you signed. It is impossible for anyone to explain why an attorney would have advised you a certain way without knowing all of the facts of you case. I always suggest being upfront with the attorney about your concerns and see if he will explain them to you.
