Q: I co own a paid off property with my sister, will my kids automatically inherit my half when i die?

A: Depends on the ownership type, but highly likely that it would pass to your children. There are two types of ownership that the land could be under the most common are tenants in common and under that, your kids would inherit. The second is joint with the right of survivorship and in that, your sister would inherit. If the deed doesn't specify that it is joint with a right of survivorship then it is tenants in common.
