Chicago, IL asked in Criminal Law for Illinois

Q: How a hearing is cancelled to dismiss asking for pretrial monitoring to be dismissed but they could not find the order?

A first time offender on an alleged possession charge they put me on pretrial monitoring. I asked my attorney to have a hearing to have me released from this monitoring for I am not a danger to society and i show up for court. I go to court to have this hearing which my attorney tells me the court cannot find an order that placed me on this monitoring so I was released from monitoring as of now and no hearing was necessary? Seems strange to me is this legit? I have no experience in the court system and this attorney also talked me into waiving my right to a preliminary hearing which I did and later found out what that even meant and that was a huge mistake for me. This attorney is court appointed….in illinois.
