Vine Grove, KY asked in Traffic Tickets for Kentucky

Q: Careless Driving and 25 over citation

I was pulled over by a state trooper in Daviess County going 28 miles over the speed limit (83 in a 55, lead foot, I know it was a bad move now). He charged me with driving 25+ above the speed limit and he also charged me with careless driving. It’s not prepayable and I have to appear in court. I don’t know if I’ll fight the ticket or not, it just seems like more money than it’s worth to and I know I did it, but I was wondering what to expect in the courtroom with the judge. Will the judge ask me questions as to why I was speeding and about the incident? Also is traffic school an option to avoid license suspension? This is my first offense and I’m an 18 year old male.

Edit: not sure why it says vine grove but it will do

A: You need to hire an attorney immediately. Speeding 26 Over or greater is a suspension level ticket and your license can be suspended. Hire a lawyer and see if you can't get the charge amended so you can participate in diversion or traffic school and keep your driver's license.
