Fort Mill, SC asked in Contracts for North Carolina

Q: Tenant laws in NC

My husband and I renewed our lease on June 20th 2022 for 13 months. The apartment complex manager signed off on our renewal on June 21st 2022. The apartment complex and manager and the apartment complex owner as contacted us serval times that our lease needs to be renewed. We have talk to the manager at the complex and she said they sent us the wrong lease and we need to resign the correct one and they have put us down for month to month because we have not signed our lease. We have the agreement in email and printed from along with the email stating congratulations you have renewed your lease.

What do you do if the complex tried to evict us?

A: If they try and evict, bring the signed agreement and emails to court, and it will likely be thrown out.
