Q: Could we sue Lowes for leaving live copper wire exposed above the stove in our kitchen after removing the kitchen hood?
A: You mean leaving it exposed, but with no one being injured by electric shock? If so, this isn't a personal injury question, but rather a breach of contract question. If someone WAS injured, clarify and re-post your inquiry. If this is simply a breach of contract due to incorrect installation, have you contacted Lowe's to request they fix it? I'd be shocked if they were to refuse. Stores like Lowe's contract with other companies for installation services, and sometimes the installers are incompetent. Lowe's is ultimately responsible, and they likely want you to be a happy customer. If you are in a bizarre situation in which Lowe's is refusing to fix it, are they giving a reason for the refusal? That, and other information, would be needed for you to obtain a legal opinion.
