Maysville, KY asked in Animal / Dog Law for Kentucky

Q: My neighbor refuses to keep their aggressive dogs in their yard, what can I do? what is the leash laws for carter co KY.

I have proof between messages with the owner and pictures of their dogs from phone pictures to my doorbell camera, as well as messages contacting the dog warden and local police. There is a criminal summons out for my neighbor and the cops said they cannot serve the warrant to her because of those same aggressive dogs. I have a 2 year old daughter and I fear to take her in my front yard. Those dogs chase and bite at cars as they go by and they have tried to attack my dogs and me as well but never make contact and no one will help until one or both dogs make contact.

A: If they are dangerous or aggressive and they come on your property, the law permits you to shoot them. As for the carter County leash laws, you can find them at your library, animal control or possibly online.
