A: Whether your insurance company should or should not have denied your claim will depend upon numerous things such as the detailed facts of loss, the information provided to the insurance company, the insurance policy, and the law. It is difficult to tell based on the minimal information if the insurance company wrongfully and unreasonably denied your claim. You should consult with an experienced insurance lawyer to review the details of your claim as you may have a case against your insurance company.

A: Your testimony that your trailer was stolen is evidence that it was, so your insurance company is incorrect. You do have an obligation to file a police report within 24 hours after you discovered the theft, but obviously you cannot report what you don't know about.

It sounds like your insurance company has breached the insurance contract, and committed bad faith. You should contact an attorney who specializes in insurance litigation.
