West Covina, CA asked in Criminal Law and Federal Crimes for California

Q: What can my boyfriend do about his parole? He served his time and we need to know why is he on parole serving time.

My boyfriend was accused of a crime that he did not commit and served all of his time in prison which was seven to eight years. He was released on October 23rd of 2019 and he was released on parole and is wearing monitor. He along with his family wants to know why is it that he is even on parole and is being monitored when he served all of his time and now that he is released he really isn't because he is still being monitored and is serving ten years with parole. My boyfriend has been through three different parole officers and the fourth one is giving him a very hard time and is very prejudice, disrespectful and manipulative towards him, his family and his friends. We need help, we need serious help because my boyfriend really wants to fight this but, does not know what steps to take. This new parole officer he has is on some kind of power trip and is making a whole lot of things impossible for him such as finding employment and housing. He has been harassing him also.
