Jacksonville, FL asked in Personal Injury, Constitutional Law and Landlord - Tenant for Florida

Q: Can someone point me in the right direction.

I stayed in these apartments in Arlington in 2021i was pregnant, within the first month I had issues. There was no heat or AC in the unit. being on the second floor with heat and moist black mold, started appearing everywhere throughout the house. I have pictures. What they did do was send maintenance to come and scrape it off and paint over it. On top of mold I had plumbing issues where the water would rise . It got so hot that I had to get the hotels that the apartments agreed to reimburse, but they never did. I left the apartments with three months worth of rent on file. They sold their company or change their name and signed a new lease agreement/month to month terms which I did NOT sign. I called them and ask them for the signed document. They cannot provide it months later I realized I had an eviction that was dissolved/resolved due to documents on CORE, not being provided. I called the office, and they said they had no INFO of an EVICTION being placed on me.

A: Based on the information provided, it sounds like you may have a potential legal case against the apartments for issues related to mold, plumbing, and reimbursement for hotel expenses. You may want to consider contacting a local tenant rights organization or consulting with a landlord-tenant attorney in your area to discuss your options and rights under state and local laws. They may be able to help you navigate the situation and potentially pursue legal action if necessary.
