Fort Lauderdale, FL asked in Divorce for Florida

Q: Can I take this matter to a civil court if I don't agree with the Magistrate's final ruling?

We had a marital house of 14 years in Canada, & decided to sell it and relocate to Florida. I came first & left husband selling the home and signed the power of attorney to him. I asked him how much $ was left after the sale-he said the bank took everything and there was nothing left. Year later we separated , and another year after he filed for divorce. During divorce I found out that he in fact he got a check for $58KCad after the disbursements, I showed the proof to the Magistrate who divorced us here in Fl and she said the house was sold while the marriage was intact and gave him a benefit of the doubt that he spent all that $ on matrimonial debt- when he never showed any proof, and we did not have any debts to spend that kind of money on. I would like to know if anything could be done at this point. I thought the$ from marital house would be something divided equally, we have 3 children together. Please feel free to leave me some advice, thank you!

A: If the court has already entered a final judgment, you have 10 days to file a motion to vacate the judgment. If you seek to vacate the final judgment and the court denies your request, you then have 30 days to file an appeal.
