Asked in Personal Injury and Car Accidents for Tennessee

Q: Hit and run, driving non-street legal, under the influence, ran a stop sign. No psychical injuries, but anxiety is worse

My roomate was driving her car in the late hours on Saturday. We were picking up her little sisters so they could come visit for the weekend. Unexpectedly, a person blew through a stop sign and hit the driver side door. Totaling the car. The person was under the influence, driving intoxicated, and driving a non-street legal 4wheeler. Ever since the incident, my anxiety and sleep has gotten worse.

The drivers acted more than negligent.

The drivers also did pull a hit and run. They will be arrested later today, as we found out who it was. I was in the passenger side. The collision hit the car so hard the car went sideways. No airbags deployed, 911 was called. But my anxiety and sleep problems have gotten worse since the incident.

A: What is your question? You will need to notify roommate's insurance carrier of probable UIM claim. It would help if you had an ER or DR visi,t with records and bills. If other driver is criminally charged, then you might be a victim entitled to restitution, so contact appropriate criminal court and DUI DA. It appears your injuries are minimal.
