Q: I was rear ended on 12/18/2019 and received an unlawful lane usage and no insurance ticket when in fact

I was rear ended on 12/18/2019 and received an unlawful lane usage and no insurance ticket when in fact I used my signal before I changed lanes and the other driver wasn’t paying attention because he hit me way long after I put my signal on and switched lanes and had to have my vehicle towed home because it was unable to start after the accident and was wondering if I can still get a lawyer and receive compensation for my car being damaged and myself and my children getting whiplashed during the accident?

A: A Colorado attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. I'm sorry about your accident. I hope you and your children are okay. That's a considerable amount of time that elapsed. Only a local attorney could advise about statute of limitations issues, which are governed by state law. In many jurisdictions, there can be a suspending of the clock ticking on statutes of limitations for minors until they reach the age of majority. Only a local attorney could advise on this. You could reach out to Colorado attorneys to discuss. Good luck
