My I 94 expires May 20, 2023 and want to make sure if we do not receive anything from USCIS this would cause a problem for us. I understand your concern about not receiving any receipt or confirmation from USCIS regarding your I-485 application. It's important to ensure that your application has been properly received and processed within the expected timeframe. Here are some steps you can take:
Track your package: Use the tracking number provided by USPS to confirm that your package was indeed delivered to the Elgin Lockbox facility. Visit the USPS website or contact their customer service for assistance with tracking.
Check USCIS processing times: Visit the USCIS website and check the current processing times for I-485 applications. This will give you an idea of the expected timeframe for receiving a receipt notice.
Contact USCIS: If a considerable amount of time has passed since the delivery of your application and you haven't received any notification, you can contact USCIS to inquire about the status. You can reach out to the USCIS Contact Center or submit an inquiry through their online portal.
USCIS Case Status Online: Monitor the USCIS Case Status Online portal using your receipt number once you receive it. USCIS will issue a receipt notice containing a unique receipt number, which you can use to track the progress of your application online.
Legal advice: Consider consulting with an immigration attorney who can guide you through the process, provide legal advice, and represent your interests if necessary.
