Q: What do I need for temporary full custody of my 11 month old son?
Hi I’m from KY and me and my husband are split right now and I’m 36 weeks pregnant and we have an 11 month old son.
Me and him have had our issues for 3 years and every time I’m pregnant he finds a reason to leave. We have had 3 miscarriages and 1 still born before our son.
I don’t want my son around his new girlfriend and the group of “friends” he has made since being with her. I don’t know them personally but I know of them and they are not the people I want my son around. My EX has not tried to contact me about our son and the only thing he has asked me is that he will be to get him in a few days and I told him he will not be to get him because I can’t trust who he hangs around anymore.
I wouldn’t have an issue if I knew he would have our son around those people but for 3 years I have caught him lying to me so many times. We split last Friday (6/15/23) and by that night he was with his new girlfriend.
A: You need to hire a lawyer and get your petition for divorce filed. Once that is done, you can seek temporary custody and set limitations on who can be present during your parenting time.
