Q: a buddy told me something about NC doing something about workers comp from me being injured in iraq.i am 100% and on SSD
i dont even know if this is worth looking into.thank you.
A: If you were a civilian employee in Iraq on a military installation then you probably need to talk to a lawyer who handles “DBA” cases- Defense Base Act. If you were in Iraq for a private corporation and there are some ties to NC, and your job had no direct entanglement with the military, then you might come under the jurisdiction of the North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act. More information would be needed from you in order to sort out jurisdiction over your claim. Bob Bollinger
