Q: Criminal Law question. Hi my name is Natasha and my son Matthew is in the county jail since 7/22/2023

He missed his first court date 6/13/2023 because he's homeless for (4) years and doesn't have transportation, so the police found him and jailed because he had a warrant for his arrest because he missed his first court date.

question he goes before the judge 8/4/2023

what happens then and they also served him child support papers?

A: At the next court appearance your son will have an opportunity to have his bond amount re-set. However, if the criminal charges against him are serious, he may be held in jail until his trial date. However, if you appear and show that he will stay with you at your home, he may be released on a bond. He will likely be appointed an attorney to defend him for free. But you get what you pay for.

You should see an attorney if you want to help your son. An attorney can help you help him.
