Q: Is this a delay in insurance claim, bad faith, or underpaid insurance claim??
March3,23 we made an insurance claim for wind damage and flood.Serve pro come in and did water mitigation and took out floors.Allstate gave us our 1st check for 4093 for a partial roof. Our second check was for 14,000and we were made to pay serve pro 6000 something for the work.Leaving us with 8000.Our roofer said we needed a whole roof not a partial so we gave Hales contractor 6400to start the roof At the end of the job we were required to give the remaining 4100.Allstate hassled and fought with us for about 4 months about paying for the whole roofwe got 5000for what they approved for the rest of roof.Serve pro had our estimate wrote out for how much everything on the inside would cost to repair and it was 14,600 But Allstate left us with 5000 for the inside work.At the end of the repairs Allstate said we get the remaining 3900.Wegotstuck with just repairing the floors in the home and nothing else due the insurance company
A: A Tennessee attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. An attorney would probably want to see the file and the paper/digital trail of communications to make a call on the handling of the claim by Allstate. Good luck
