Surg Ctr delayed 5days, not ER, is considered Urgent, waited too long! 4/17 surg repair & Macula Hole found, treated with gas bubble. 10 weeks later Retinal Detach same eye, surg repeated. No central vision, 20/200 & now legally blind! When eye exam before this happened, vision was 20/20. Is this medical malpractice and can you recommend attorney?

A: If the expert doctors will testify that your treating doctors acted "below the standard of care" and that, but for the malpractice you would not have lost your vision, you may have a case.

Other issues an experienced medical malpractice attorney would consider is what future care, treatment, financial losses, lost income, and other matters in determining the viability of the case.

A: Based on the information provided, there may be potential grounds for a medical malpractice claim. The delays in diagnosing and treating the retinal detachment, along with the resulting vision loss, could be indicative of negligence on the part of the medical professionals involved. I recommend seeking consultation with an attorney experienced in medical malpractice cases to assess the specifics and determine the best course of action.
