Q: My lawyer missed the deadline to press charges on the man who assaulted me
It took a year of therapy to finally have the courage to pursue legal action against the man who assaulted me. When I agreed my attorney who had months to accomplish this missed the deadline for any action. Now I heard it might affect another lawsuit connected to the assault. What are my options if any with that lawyer that promised we were gonna get him and then missed the deadline. Thanks for your time
A: Your lawyer wouldn't "press charges." The prosecutor would file criminal charges. If your attorney failed to file a lawsuit and it is now time barred contact an personal injury attorney.
