Is there anything I can do as a US citizen to help his immigration process?

A: Immigrating to the US requires more than just an invitation. Schedule a paid consultation with an immigration attorney to analyze the options

A: As a U.S. citizen, your ability to "invite" someone who is not a family member to immigrate to the U.S. is limited. The main avenues available for sponsoring someone for immigration are family-based and employment-based sponsorships; without a family relationship or an employer-employee relationship, sponsorship for immigration is generally not possible. While you cannot sponsor them for immigration, you might help them in other ways, such as supporting a visa application by providing a letter of invitation for a visitor visa, although this does not guarantee visa approval; however, it is always recommended to speak with an immigration attorney to explore all possible avenues to facilitate their process.
