Q: What should i do if my doctor wrote my prescription wrong and gave me the wrong dosage and didn’t realize till today.
My doctor prescribed me with lithium, we started at 300 and then he told me we were going to 600. But instead i was given 450mg pills and was told to take them twice a day for the next week. i go in for my follow up and he at the very end just then realized he meant to give me 600mg but instead it was 900mg, so for a whole week i was taking 900 mg when i used to take 300. It ruined my entire week and i had no idea i was even taking 900.
A: This is potential medical malpractice. But, if there was no harm in taking the pills, or if the harm was minimal, it may not be worth pursuing a case.
