Taylorsville, KY asked in Traffic Tickets for Kentucky

Q: I Got a ticket for 52 in a a posted 35. But it wasn’t posted anywhere and i also disagree with the stated speed.

The deputy stated on the ticket

“when he hit the 35 mph zone i slowed down to 35 mph and the above vehicle continued to pull away from me. When i caught back up to the vehicle i paced them at 52 mph in a posted 35 mph. When asked if the driver knew the speed limit he stated no i asked him to guess and he stated 45. I informed him where the speed limit changed on this road.”

I’ve driven this road for roughly 14-15 years now. There is a 35 mph sign posted but not until after where the deputy pulled me over. I was slowing down as i was approaching this sign to go into what i had always believed to be the actual 35 mph speed zone when the deputy turned on his lights. After pulling away from the stop I went back up the road to try and locate the sign the deputy stated was there and could not locate it anywhere. I have a video taken just after the stop of this stretch of road that clearly shows there was no posted speed limit sign.

What is the best way to try and get it dismissed?

A: Best way is to hire a traffic ticket attorney in your area to represent you. You have reasons, sympathetic and perhaps legal, in which an experienced traffic ticket attorney could utilize to get the ticket dismissed or moved to something which does not appear on your driving record. Good luck.
