A: Generally, your employer should not disclose your pay to third parties without your consent due to privacy considerations. The disclosure of your salary to someone, even a family member, without your permission could be deemed an invasion of privacy or a breach of confidentiality.

If your aunt does not work for the company, there is even less reason for her to be privy to this information. If you believe your privacy has been breached, you may wish to discuss the matter with your employer and understand the reasons for such disclosure.

You could also consider seeking advice from an attorney familiar with employment laws in Alaska to determine if any legal remedies are available. It's important to communicate your privacy expectations clearly to both your employer and family members to avoid such situations in the future.
