Q: I fired my court appointed attorney due to being indegent.I tried, but can't afford one.what do I do?
I am from Texas. What can I do to get another court appointed attorney?
A: It depends upon the reason you fired your first court appointed attorney. While you have the absolute right to fire your attorney for any reason (good, bad, or indifferent), you are not necessarily entitled to the appointment of a replacement attorney. You will need to demonstrate to the court that you had good cause to fire the original attorney. A disagreement over case strategy or a lack of communication likely will not constitute good cause.
