A: Under California law, experiencing sound that seems to originate internally, such as in your case, could be medically explained as a symptom of a condition like schizophrenia, as your doctor mentioned. However, it's important to consider that technology like the Noveto system, which can transmit sound directly to an individual's ears without the need for headphones, does exist. This technology, including similar advancements from UCSD, utilizes sound beaming to achieve this effect.

While the law typically follows technological advancements, it might not always immediately address every new invention or its implications. If you believe the technology is being used in a way that affects you personally, it would be wise to gather any evidence of this and consult with an attorney who has experience in technology and privacy law. They can provide guidance on whether there might be any legal avenues to explore based on the specific circumstances and the current state of the law.

It's also advisable to continue consulting with your healthcare provider to manage and understand your symptoms. Balancing both medical and legal advice can help you navigate this complex situation more effectively.
