Q: I have a third IME scheduled with the same doctor. Is this legal?
A: It would be very odd to have more than one IME (DME) with the same doctor. Talk to your lawyer about this.
A: Carriers do that - they may have a contract with the company that handles their IMEs and peer reviews. Sometimes if the medical review company is a large one, examining doctors may be scheduled randomly, but they don't go to any great lengths to make sure the same doctor doesn't get lined up more than once with the same no-fault claimant. If you have concerns, discuss with your attorney. Good luck
