A: If you have received a 1095 form but do not have any other tax documents like a W-2 or dependents, filing your taxes with just the 1095 is fairly straightforward:

1. Identify which type of 1095 form you have - there's the 1095-A for health insurance through the Marketplace, 1095-B for other health coverage, and 1095-C from an employer plan.

2. Use the information on the 1095 to complete the appropriate IRS forms claiming health coverage. For 1095-A, you would complete Form 8962 with the information. For 1095-B or 1095-C, the info gets put on Schedule 4 of your Form 1040 tax return.

3. File the completed IRS forms with your 1040 tax return as normal. The 1095 documents help establish you had qualifying health insurance coverage for the year. Make sure you also complete the additional tax forms related to income, deductions etc on your 1040 form to report everything.

4. If you do not have taxable income for the year, you may still have to file a return if you want to claim the Premium Tax Credit from insurance purchased on the Marketplace. This helps you get some of the premium cost back as a refundable credit.

So in summary - the key is using your 1095 data to complete the correct IRS health coverage forms, and then submitting those forms along with your standard 1040 tax return package.
