A: If you've lost an item in an Uber and the driver is not returning it despite confirming possession, the first step is to continue using the Uber app to communicate. The app's lost and found feature is designed for such situations, allowing you to report the item as lost and directly message the driver. Keeping all communication within the app helps document your efforts to retrieve the item, which is important if further actions are needed.

Should the driver remain unresponsive or refuse to return your item, escalate the issue within Uber's customer support system. Provide them with all relevant details, including the driver's acknowledgment of having the item and any communication attempts. Uber's support team is equipped to handle these situations and can mediate between you and the driver to find a resolution.

If these efforts don't result in the return of your item, consider filing a police report, especially if the item is of significant value. While law enforcement may not always intervene in lost property cases, having a report can be useful if further legal action is necessary. Remember, persistence and clear communication through the proper channels are key to resolving these situations.
