A: Creating a puzzle company with themes inspired by TV shows is an exciting venture, but it's important to tread carefully when it comes to copyright laws, especially if you plan to sell your products internationally. Even if you avoid using actors' faces or direct scenes from the shows, elements such as specific characters, distinctive settings, or unique aspects closely associated with these shows could still be protected under copyright. The key is to ensure that your creations do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of the entities that own the TV shows.

When you generate images inspired by TV shows, it's crucial to make them sufficiently original and not directly derivative of copyrighted material. This means creating content that does not replicate specific elements that are copyrighted by the TV shows' producers or creators. It's a fine balance between being inspired by a show and creating something that is considered a derivative work, which could potentially lead to copyright infringement issues.

Before launching your products, it might be wise to consult with a legal advisor who is knowledgeable about copyright laws in Switzerland and the international market. They can offer tailored advice on how to navigate the complexities of copyright law and help ensure that your business operates within legal boundaries. This step is especially important given your intention to sell internationally, as copyright laws can vary significantly from one country to another.
