Powder Springs, GA asked in Arbitration / Mediation Law for Georgia

Q: I settled for 5 grand in a mediation but my ex company sent me 8 grand. They asked me to take a picture of the check.

But my bank said that giving them a picture of the check is super weird. To just sit money aside. What should I do and can I get in trouble for not sending them pictures?

A: A Georgia attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. No, I do not think you would get in trouble for that. But they could use it as a justification to delay a corrected payment. You could ask them why they aren't able to verify the amount of the check by you providing them with a check number. If you were represented by an attorney in the mediation, ask them for guidance. Cooperating with their image request is up to you, if your attorney can't advise. Is it going to get you your money and help put the matter behind you? Good luck
