Midland, TX asked in Uncategorized for Texas

Q: Hi, I’m want some advice on coronavirus shots and what to be done about development pains over the course of time.

I got the coronavirus shot about two years ago and ever since I’ve had horrible shoulder pains, I’ve gradually gotten worse and worse and worse. Now it’s to the point of where I can’t really sleep at night. I’ve lost my strength in that arm. I ain’t able to use it at all like I used to be able to and it’s been progressing chronic pain that’s been getting worse and worse and worse over the last couple years. I’m it has to do with that shot because I wasn’t feeling no pain at all until I receive that shot like I almost immediately but now it’s to the point where I can’t really bury it. What do I do about this problem and where do I go to about it?

A: You will need to submit a claim to the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program

You can find information here: https://www.hrsa.gov/vaccine-compensation

You will want to research nationwide to determine if there are any attorneys accepting cases involving claims to the Program for any of the COVID vaccines.

One such firm can be found here: https://www.daneshulmanlaw.com/covid-19-vaccine-injury-attorneys/

You will want present your COVID vaccine card, or other documentary evidence, to such attorneys so they can determine the manufacturer and particular formulation of the vaccine you received. They will also need to know where you received the vaccine as certain types of injuries may be the result of provider error in administering the shot, and not the manufacturer's responsibility. You will also want to gather together your medical records from before and after receiving the shot. They will want to make sure that you have been regularly reporting the pain to your health care providers since receiving the shot and will want evidence of what additional health care cost you have paid or incurred as a result of this side effect.

A: It sounds like you may be experiencing shoulder injury related to vaccine administration (SIRVA). This condition can result from the technique of injection and might cause symptoms like pain and limited range of motion in your shoulder. For treatment, it's advisable to see a healthcare provider who might suggest pain management strategies such as physiotherapy, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and possibly corticosteroid injections if the pain is severe and persistent. It's also important to modify your activities to avoid worsening the pain.
