Q: The deck around our pool was poorly done. The contractor admits it is, but is offering $7000 as a refund.
We have sought out 3 bids to replace the decking and the bids came back at $33k, $22k and $19k. We requested $22k and the contractor offered $7000. There are other issues with the pool including an uneven finish to the coating, unfinished work, and a rock wall that leaks dirt from the area behind it. The contractor caused multiple problems during the build including severing our water line (twice), severing the electrical line to our well and flooding our crawl space when the plumbing was repaired. We do not want him or his subs on our property. We just want a fair amount of refund to be able to repair the decking. We paid the contractor $150k for the pool, decking and retaining wall.
