Fowler, IN asked in Divorce, Family Law, Child Custody and Legal Malpractice for Indiana

Q: Can my ex be represented by (and married to) my significant other’s ex in our custody case ethically, legally & morally?

My S/O and I were alerted that our ex spouses became involved with each other. My S/O’s ex is a lawyer and is representing my ex in our custody case. Essentially we “swapped spouses.” Children are involved on both sides. Most of the time it feels like a personal battle between myself and the lawyer-spouse because my S/O was not divorced from the lawyer when my SO and i became involved. It feels as though the lawyer is doing whatever they can to try to gain custody of my child as a vendetta for her marriage failing. The lawyer has now married my ex and is dragging feet in getting info to my lawyer, lying to my lawyer, and attemtping to bully me into submission by doing what she sees fit and not giving clear and/or unbiased advice to her client/spouse. Judge wants me to show proof from other cases that this is has been proved to be against the standards of a lawyer in order to get my exes lawyer/spouse off of the case.
