Sierra Vista, AZ asked in Animal / Dog Law for Arizona

Q: When I moved out, my ex said I could keep the dog. Months later they want to take me to court for the dog.

Adopted the dog 1 year ago. My name is on the adoption contract, my ex paid for the dog. The dog has been under my vet account since we got her, she is a registered ESA to me, and has been in my possession for 3 months, after my ex said I could keep her. I am her primary care giver when I lived with my ex and now since I have moved out. I buy her food and all her medications. Now my ex wants her back and is threatening to take me to court for her. Is this allowed and what can I do?
