Q: Landlord refusing to find a new tenant and demanding we pay?
We needed to move out of our house in December so we broke our lease early. We've been out for 4 months now and the landlord has still not put the house back up for rent, hasn't done a final walk-through, nothing. Can he make us wait out the lease and pay everything or does he need to be making a reasonable effort to rerent the house? This is in Louisiana. We told him early enough. We found a new tenant that the landlord didnt take. We had issues with pests and other maintenance that never got handled as well
