Chicago, IL asked in Employment Law for Illinois

Q: Hello. Can I sue fed ex for wrongful termination for firing me for something I didn't do?

I was accused of not getting a signature for a package which I did. They were able to talk to the business and verify that I did infact get the signature yet they are still keeping the investigation open and won't allow my to work. I've been there for about 3 years and have been in this line of work for 18. I have many photos of the way our trucks are loaded they are very dangerous to work in. I've been trapped under 150 lb boxes because they fall on me while trying to get other packages out. I've hurt my back and they tell me to take it easy but I have to keep working. I've never missed a day of work always do my best. They aren't even giving me a chance or even a temporary suspension for the signature. Again it was proven that I did get it and the business made a mistake. This is going to cause many damages and hardships to my family.
