Q: Can I live on my own at 15? Do I qualify for low-income housing with a guarantor in Kansas?
I want to leave my house and my parents aren't likely to stop me. I have income, I make roughly 600$ a month during the school year and 1600$ a month during the summer. There are bedroom-bathroom apartments in my area for low-income housing. Do I still qualify with a guarantor? Does the guarantor have to be my parent or can it be anyone? If I have any misconceptions about how this works is there another way I can go about moving out? The plan is to emancipate myself once I turn 16.
