Houston, TX asked in Child Custody, Child Support and Divorce for Texas

Q: I reside in Harris County. My wife has sued me for divorce in CA. I have 2 Children ages 5, and 8 that live with me here

We separated at the before the beginning of summer in 2023. She unenrolled the kids from school about a week prior to the end of the school year (without my knowledge) During that summer she only let me speak to them 2 times. I was expecting them to be in Texas at her mothers home but they went to CA instead. At the end of the summer she dropped them off with me for a "visit". She did not return to get them, and advised me on the day before I went back to work that she wasn't coming to get them. I started paperwork on TX divorce online. Sent her a copy of the paperwork as she was acting as though she was going to accept it. Instead she filed for divorce in Napa CA. During the time she has been gone after the summer of 2023 she has only attempted to speak with the children 4 times, and has not come to see them. During the times that she did speak to them I had to persuade her to call instead of text as they are young and cannot read well. I need help.
