Q: What is the probability of an individual facing jail time if found guilty of contempt of court for child support?
The parent of my child refuses to pay child support even though she is capable of doing so, she was ordered to pay child support in March of 2023, She states that it is complete nonsense and that she will not be paying it and so far has held true to her word on that, The judge also ordered that family wizard be used for main communication but she refuses to use it, It has gotten to the point that both her and her fiancé have harassed me about extending visitation past the court order and when given an answer they do not like they choose to respond in a degrading manner (cussing and insulting), I’m filing contempt of court in hopes that this will resolve the situation but I’m questioning what the consequences will be for her in this situation? I hold no hate or resentment but I know this will not end until I take action.
