Prattville, AL asked in Insurance Bad Faith, Insurance Defense and Municipal Law for Georgia

Q: I was not given the chance in court to show the proof (a video from the owner showing the VIN numbers) insurance.

I went to my second court date for a no insurance citation in lake park Georgia. I was not even given the opportunity to show the video of the vehicle that I was cited in to have the proper insurance. They didn't go by the date I was pulled over to find valid insurance records. I am not the owner of the vehicle. The owner put a wrong tag on the truck the officer didn't notice. I didn't know. They put me on 6 months probation and fined me $760. I showed proof of insurance on that truck VIN number my first court date. Also, the second. They didn't even look at the video I had from the owner showing the discrepancies. I was not given a voice and truly the officer had no reasonable cause for the pull over to begin with. But the day I was cited, Feb 2 2024, that truck was shown on the eServices website as valid on that day. They still convicted me and gave me 6 months probation. License points and a $760 fine. That truck and vin was insured on that day.
