Q: How do I sue my homeowners insurance company, American Family Insurance?
2007-2008 we put an addition on our home. We had (and still have) American Family insurance. Both the building inspector and American Family inspected the property, including the roof and signed off on it. Now 16-17 years later, our roof is collapsing, we think from the severe weather and heavy snow fall this past winter. But American Fam is refusing to cover it because they are claiming the peak vent was put in wrong all those years ago.
Although our original Building Contractor is no longer in business, he does still live locally and is willing to support our side of the claim. What do we do? We need the roof repaired before it does collapse.
