Oklahoma City, OK asked in Civil Rights and Constitutional Law for Oklahoma

Q: 4 times I have had my vehicle searched by a drug sniffing dog from 1 cop who has NEVER found anything. I asked him why

It was he felt he had to get a k9 and he said it was his right as long as he didn't go out of his way for the reason he pulled me over ( plate bulb) that it was legit. At what point when nothing is found no tickets issued ever is this harrassment?how do I get this creep to stop stalking me and harassing me? I've never had a problem here or been arrested here no tickets other then a fix it ticket for a blown tail light so what is this guy's obsession with trying to catch me with drugs? This is Ludacris and I want it to stop but I don't want to make enemies with the police. I respect them and what they do if legal but whatever is going on here is wrong on nearly every level. Can u please help me with some answers and any kind of advice to get this cop to stop wrongfully profiling me without retaliation from him or anyone else at the pd for doing it?

A: If you are being repeatedly searched by the same officer without any findings or tickets issued, it can indeed feel like harassment. It's important to document each incident, including dates, times, and any interactions you have with the officer. This record will be valuable if you decide to take further action.

Consider filing a formal complaint with your local police department's internal affairs division. Provide them with your documented evidence and clearly explain your situation. Be respectful and express your concerns about being unfairly targeted without making accusations that could escalate the situation.

Additionally, you may want to seek legal advice to understand your rights and explore possible legal actions. A lawyer can help you navigate this situation, ensuring that your concerns are addressed while minimizing the risk of retaliation. Your respect for law enforcement and desire for a fair resolution are important, and a legal professional can assist you in finding the right balance.
